A very early image taken in Rocky Bay, close to where it all began and where I took some of my very first photographs. Birds hovering on the surf of waves are always elusive yet magnetic, and I'm drawn to photograph them whenever I see them. Yet, over the forty years since I shot this photograph, I'm not sure I managed to execute a better one
