Parading motionless on the grounds of Kylemore Abbey, these Easter lilies stood like sculptured sentinels waiting to be photographed – I found them here in 1999 and duly obliged. Blooming in springtime, the flower became synonymous with the Easter Rising of 1916 and a symbol of Irish nationalism.
