Sheep's head, Cork

Sheep's Head

I’ve photographed the Beara Peninsula several times over the years, so it felt right to finally spend some time with my camera on her neighbouring headland. And these peninsulas are different in that the beauty of Beara Peninsula is more dramatic and “obvious”, while the beauty of Sheep’s Head is more subtle and has to almost be discovered, but once you find it, it’s just as captivating and breathtaking as any other headland along West Cork. Nestled between Bantry Bay and Dunmanus Bay, Sheep’s Head boasts stunning and expansive sea views, and because she isn’t as popular as her neighbours (Mizen and Beara), her beautiful landscape is truly unspoilt.
